The internet has been left in stitches over the behavior of a “weird” vizsla dog, feeling left out while other dogs play tug of war.
The dog can be seen making his own fun in a viral TikTok clip shared by Briannuel, a dog walker based in Nova Scotia, Canada, who uses the handle @thecrazydoggirl.
The popular video has attracted much attention, racking up 132,600 likes, and has been watched over 586,000 times.
Hundreds of people have made comments, and many are saying it’s nothing out of the ordinary for this breed.
The name vizsla is Hungarian for the pointer and these dogs are best known for hunting. But nowadays, they make “wonderful family pets [and] they also make excellent therapy, service, and search and rescue dogs,” according to American pet care company Wag!
A few strange sounds can be heard on the video and many TikTokers think it is the vizsla. But Briannuel has pointed out it was the German shepherd making the suspect sounds.
The Wag! website states the following: “According to a test conducted on 26 dogs from different breeds, the bark of a German Shepherd was found to be louder than the sound of a moving truck which emitted 86 decibels of sound.
“Other tests revealed that some German Shepherds can even make sounds as loud as 106 decibels. Their vocalizations are not limited to barks; they also howl, whine, moan, and make other strange sounds. The loudness of their vocalizations, especially when they bark , combined with their imposing stature, can make German Shepherds appear very intimidating to other people.”
In the comments, people aren’t surprised by this dog’s behavior.
One user said: “Is that a vizsla? I’ve never met one that isn’t super weird.”
Another wrote: “That’s very vizsla of him.”
Speaking from experience, another dog owner wrote: “My family’s vizsla does this every night.”
Other users have suggested the dog is making the noises as he isn’t able to join in with the tug of war with the German shepherd and golden retriever in the video.
“Hmmm he is asking for a 4th dog, so he can have a playmate,” wrote one user.
It seems TikTokers are right about this comical character as Newsweek has previously shared a bunch of articles about vizslas making the internet laugh.
Recently, a vizsla’s reaction to being recorded had the internet in hysterics along with the grumpy look on another dog’s face when he realized his owners were going out.
Newsweek reached out to @thecrazydoggirl for comment. We could not verify the details of the case.
