Realme 10 Pro is unleashed as a new Android 13 smartphone with ultra-narrow display bezels, a 108MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery

Realme has sprung a 10 Pro on a possibly unsuspecting Chinese market during the OEM’s latest launch event. The unexpected new middle-of-its-series Android device has been unveiled with a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD screen like many others of its market segment.

However, according to Realme, it is of a considerably updated type that incorporates the advanced manufacturing processes necessary to make its bezel no more than 1 millimeter (mm) thick along its sides. Realme thus (reasonably enough) boasts that this generally boosts UX through increased screen-to-body ratio and a “wider field of view” – however, the device still does have an arguably noticeable chin.

The 10 Pro’s display also has a 30-120Hz variable refresh rate and a 240Hz touch-sampling rate. It is also the only smartphone of its line with a Qualcomm processor: the Snapdragon 695 is also tasked with being one of the first SoCs to run Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 for the first time.

The Pro has dual rear cameras, 1 of which is the ISOCELL HM6, rated for advanced low-light performance and up-to-date options such as tilt shift, a portrait mode and AI-enhanced selfies (then again, Realme has capped its video output at 1080p/30fps). Its presence may be welcome among potential buyers, as the second lens houses a mere 2MP shooter.

Both lenses come in their own enlarged camera rings, so as to match the 10 and 10 5G from the back. Their Pro counterpart’s body houses the almost inevitable 5,000mAh battery, charging at 33W with the power brick that still comes in its box with it.

Externally, the 10 Pro has the same “Hyperspace” finish (in the form of “Starlight” SKUs) as the 10 Pro Plus, along with Ocean (an icy gradient with a different, wavy light-bending effect) and Night (wavy black). It bypasses the typical 128GB minimum spec to go straight to 256GB of internal storage, available with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM.

These refined options are now available to reserve on Realme’s Chinese webstore for 1,599 to 1,899 yuan (~US$223-265) from now. Hopefully, this level of affordability will translate on the 10 Pro’s almost certain upcoming global release.
